The Holy Quran
The Holy Quran
What does the Arabic text of the Quran really say, word for word, root for root?
This is not a translation like any other. It is a radical experiment : rendering the Quran in this language using only the original Arabic text—without relying on traditional commentaries, without the established choices of translators, without theological mediation. Each Arabic word has been traced back to its root and rendered with its etymological meaning , incorporated directly into the text through transparent compounds.
The reader will not find "the Merciful," but "the Womb-Tender" —because raḥmān is born from the root of the maternal womb. He will not find "the unbelievers," but "the covering ones" —because kafara means to cover, to conceal. Not "to believe," but "to trust" ; not "the Lord," but "the Breeder ," the one who makes grow; not "Paradise," but "the hidden garden" ; not "the righteous," but "those who shield themselves ." The "Day of Judgment" returns to being the "day of rendering what is due" ; "Islam" is the "whole-surrender . "
The result is a disconcerting and powerful text: the Quran reemerges as a fabric of concrete images —wombs, coverings, screens, seeds, scales, straight paths—where every technical term of the tradition finds its origin in the physical gesture from which it arose.
The work includes:
- All 114 suras , fully translated, from the "Opening" to the "People";
- Uniform lexical conventions from beginning to end: the same Arabic root is always rendered in the same way;
- Numbered verses and flowing text , designed for both continuous reading and study;
- No notes, no comments : just the text, presented in its nakedness.
A dedicated book:
- For those who study Quranic Arabic and seek a constant etymological mirror;
- For those who have already read the Quran in other translations and want to see it with fresh eyes ;
- For those interested in the history of religions, Semitic linguistics and the art of translation ;
- For those who simply want to approach one of the most influential texts in human history before the centuries of interpretation .
Not a Quran explained: a Quran discovered.
